Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.02%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Software, Food&Beverages and Technology sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Retail and Transportation&Logistics sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.02% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index fell 0.82%, and the TecDAX index added 0.19%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which rose 2.80% or 11.50 points to trade at 421.80 at the close. Meanwhile, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) added 1.88% or 3.20 points to end at 173.00 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) was up 1.68% or 0.92 points to 55.54 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which fell 1.97% or 0.61 points to trade at 30.36 at the close. Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) declined 1.73% or 2.75 points to end at 156.25 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was down 1.55% or 0.41 points to 26.03.

The top performers on the MDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 7.14% to 33.60, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 3.09% to settle at 49.42 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) which gained 2.76% to close at 36.43.

The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 11.82% to 11.12 in late trade, Vitesco Technologies Group AG (ETR:VTSCn) which lost 11.13% to settle at 74.25 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 3.78% to 21.40 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 7.14% to 33.60, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 3.09% to settle at 49.42 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which gained 2.48% to close at 14.69.

The worst performers were Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 2.25% to 47.75 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 1.93% to settle at 32.60 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 1.81% to 111.40 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 392 to 235 and 30 ended unchanged.

Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all time highs; rising 2.80% or 11.50 to 421.80. Shares in RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.97% or 0.61 to 30.36. Shares in SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.88% or 3.20 to 173.00. Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to 3-years lows; down 11.82% or 1.49 to 11.12.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.78% to 12.65 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.65% or 13.40 to $2,036.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.06% or 0.81 to hit $77.30 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.83% or 0.67 to trade at $81.47 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 103.71.
