Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.02%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Insurance and Retail sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Media and Software sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.02%, while the MDAX index declined 0.25%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.47%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 4.27% or 1.05 points to trade at 25.62 at the close. Meanwhile, Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) added 2.37% or 1.13 points to end at 48.91 and Fresenius SE&Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was up 2.01% or 0.57 points to 28.93 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 3.51% or 9.20 points to trade at 253.00 at the close. Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) declined 3.27% or 2.20 points to end at 65.08 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was down 1.97% or 0.56 points to 27.85.

The top performers on the MDAX were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which rose 2.46% to 108.30, Hochtief AG (ETR:HOTG) which was up 2.05% to settle at 101.90 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which gained 1.96% to close at 101.45.

The worst performers were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was down 4.86% to 79.82 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 3.96% to settle at 37.30 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 3.70% to 8.85 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which rose 2.76% to 20.84, Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which was up 2.72% to settle at 60.50 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which gained 1.74% to close at 17.50.

The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 3.96% to 37.30 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 3.70% to settle at 8.85 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 3.51% to 253.00 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 312 to 297 and 31 ended unchanged.

Shares in Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.27% or 2.20 to 65.08. Shares in Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.70% or 0.34 to 8.85. Shares in Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) rose to all time highs; rising 2.72% or 1.60 to 60.50. Shares in Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.70% or 0.34 to 8.85.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.86% to 12.33 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.12% or 2.85 to $2,334.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.00% or 0.77 to hit $77.64 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.88% or 0.72 to trade at $82.08 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 104.64.
