Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.15%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Media and Consumer&Cyclical sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Transportation&Logistics and Software sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.15% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index fell 0.07%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.02%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 3.03% or 0.50 points to trade at 16.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) added 2.12% or 3.40 points to end at 163.60 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) was up 1.84% or 9.40 points to 521.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn), which fell 1.42% or 0.57 points to trade at 39.92 at the close. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) declined 1.37% or 1.29 points to end at 92.64 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) was down 1.06% or 0.84 points to 78.08.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 2.47% to 24.50, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was up 1.78% to settle at 151.65 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which gained 1.75% to close at 41.98.

The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 5.56% to 53.50 in late trade, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which lost 3.19% to settle at 104.55 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 3.02% to 115.80 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which rose 4.22% to 27.64, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 2.47% to settle at 24.50 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which gained 1.45% to close at 48.98.

The worst performers were Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which was down 9.85% to 64.10 in late trade, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which lost 7.76% to settle at 20.44 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 5.56% to 53.50 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.84% or 9.40 to 521.00. Shares in Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.78% or 2.65 to 151.65.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.71% to 12.77.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.97% or 21.65 to $2,260.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.37% or 1.14 to hit $84.31 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.95% or 0.83 to trade at $87.83 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 104.79.
