
Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Food&Beverages sectors led shares higher while losses in the Retail, Construction and Pharmaceuticals&Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.16%, while the MDAX index lost 0.41%, and the TecDAX index added 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which rose 3.05% or 1.17 points to trade at 39.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) added 2.01% or 0.68 points to end at 34.28 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 1.40% or 0.16 points to 11.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 5.41% or 1.22 points to trade at 21.35 at the close. Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) declined 3.49% or 1.11 points to end at 30.56 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was down 2.59% or 0.28 points to 10.53.
The top performers on the MDAX were Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which rose 2.02% to 32.26, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) which was up 1.72% to settle at 37.31 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 1.28% to close at 33.13.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 5.81% to 30.18 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 4.05% to settle at 24.62 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 4.01% to 14.14 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 8.01% to 19.23, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was up 3.47% to settle at 85.00 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 2.01% to close at 34.28.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 4.05% to 24.62 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 2.20% to settle at 9.78 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 1.83% to 84.92 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 335 to 278 and 36 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.49% or 1.11 to 30.56. Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to 3-years lows; falling 4.01% or 0.59 to 14.14.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.15% to 13.52.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.40% or 28.20 to $2,040.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.67% or 2.00 to hit $76.86 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.47% or 1.97 to trade at $81.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 102.54.
