Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail, Food&Beverages and Chemicals sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.19%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.57%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG), which rose 2.12% or 0.62 points to trade at 29.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) added 2.09% or 0.67 points to end at 32.66 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) was up 1.90% or 1.00 points to 53.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which fell 0.95% or 0.40 points to trade at 41.51 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) declined 0.69% or 0.20 points to end at 28.69 and Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) was down 0.55% or 0.20 points to 36.33.
The top performers on the MDAX were Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which rose 3.90% to 27.17, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was up 3.11% to settle at 5.96 and Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which gained 2.70% to close at 39.54.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 2.35% to 27.82 in late trade, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which lost 2.33% to settle at 186.75 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 2.10% to 70.00 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which rose 1.71% to 16.62, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was up 1.25% to settle at 18.99 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which gained 1.06% to close at 2.30.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 3.43% to 12.10 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 2.35% to settle at 27.82 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 2.10% to 70.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 402 to 268 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.43% or 0.43 to 12.10.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.79% to 20.08.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.52% or 9.35 to $1,804.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.93% or 2.27 to hit $79.76 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 4.06% or 3.29 to trade at $84.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 104.01.
