Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.25%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Food&Beverages and Media sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Construction and Software sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.25% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index lost 0.30%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.11%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG), which rose 3.88% or 5.74 points to trade at 153.76 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) added 2.15% or 4.60 points to end at 218.90 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) was up 1.87% or 1.62 points to 88.44 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which fell 4.04% or 1.39 points to trade at 33.17 at the close. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) declined 2.40% or 0.63 points to end at 25.61 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) was down 1.97% or 0.57 points to 28.56.

The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 6.97% to 13.43, Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was up 4.92% to settle at 42.69 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 2.46% to close at 43.75.

The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 4.64% to 47.92 in late trade, Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which lost 3.86% to settle at 23.18 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 3.66% to 85.55 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 1.05% to 345.40, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was up 0.86% to settle at 234.00 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which gained 0.55% to close at 87.06.

The worst performers were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was down 8.48% to 5.46 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which lost 4.64% to settle at 47.92 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 4.04% to 33.17 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 342 to 281 and 33 ended unchanged.

Shares in Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.88% or 5.74 to 153.76. Shares in Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.46% or 1.05 to 43.75.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.63% to 12.88.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.02% or 0.45 to $2,043.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.67% or 0.53 to hit $78.34 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.66 to trade at $82.00 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 103.81.
