Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.28%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Software and Retail sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Technology and Insurance sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.28% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index fell 0.38%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.31%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which rose 2.14% or 8.60 points to trade at 410.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn) added 1.86% or 3.20 points to end at 175.30 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) was up 1.85% or 1.50 points to 82.66 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Allianz SE VNA O.N. (ETR:ALVG), which fell 3.37% or 8.60 points to trade at 246.50 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) declined 1.52% or 0.51 points to end at 33.10 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was down 1.22% or 0.17 points to 13.73.

The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 3.79% to 12.61, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was up 1.86% to settle at 104.00 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 1.82% to close at 13.99.

The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 7.11% to 31.36 in late trade, Krones AG O.N. (ETR:KRNG) which lost 5.03% to settle at 113.40 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 4.21% to 33.24 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 1.82% to 13.99, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was up 1.70% to settle at 28.70 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which gained 1.54% to close at 169.80.

The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 7.11% to 31.36 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 4.21% to settle at 33.24 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 2.86% to 29.86 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 316 to 301 and 37 ended unchanged.

Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all time highs; up 2.14% or 8.60 to 410.30. Shares in Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.86% or 3.20 to 175.30. Shares in SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) rose to all time highs; rising 1.54% or 2.58 to 169.80.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.45% to 12.75 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.92% or 18.75 to $2,049.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.42% or 1.90 to hit $76.71 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.28% or 1.91 to trade at $81.76 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 103.81.
