Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.30%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Pharmaceuticals&Healthcare and Media sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Retail and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.30% to hit a new 3-months high, while the MDAX index lost 0.50%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.14%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn), which rose 2.61% or 2.02 points to trade at 79.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) added 2.25% or 0.69 points to end at 31.36 and Fresenius SE&Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was up 1.82% or 0.52 points to 29.09 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which fell 1.66% or 0.43 points to trade at 25.52 at the close. Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) declined 1.00% or 0.22 points to end at 21.86 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) was down 0.97% or 0.82 points to 84.06.

The top performers on the MDAX were Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which rose 2.59% to 13.66, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 2.59% to settle at 10.16 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which gained 1.90% to close at 64.24.

The worst performers were K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was down 5.03% to 13.60 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which lost 4.34% to settle at 29.11 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 2.77% to 14.02 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 22.60% to 24.52, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 2.59% to settle at 10.16 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which gained 1.87% to close at 31.53.

The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 6.11% to 35.34 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which lost 5.94% to settle at 87.15 and Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was down 2.84% to 21.88 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 314 to 311 and 32 ended unchanged.

Shares in Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.61% or 2.02 to 79.28. Shares in K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.03% or 0.72 to 13.60. Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.77% or 0.40 to 14.02.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.70% to 13.29.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.32% or 6.50 to $2,040.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.95% or 2.30 to hit $75.56 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.82% or 2.34 to trade at $80.54 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 103.25.
