Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.35%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Software and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Retail, Construction and Utilities sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.35%, while the MDAX index fell 0.97%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.86%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which rose 4.08% or 3.22 points to trade at 82.07 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) added 3.52% or 0.44 points to end at 12.83 and Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) was up 2.00% or 1.26 points to 64.34 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG), which fell 3.03% or 1.64 points to trade at 52.52 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) declined 2.83% or 0.35 points to end at 12.20 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) was down 2.21% or 7.50 points to 331.30.

The top performers on the MDAX were Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which rose 2.50% to 43.05, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 2.45% to settle at 12.15 and Hochtief AG (ETR:HOTG) which gained 2.17% to close at 101.40.

The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 23.53% to 16.44 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 3.56% to settle at 33.31 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 2.90% to 1.98 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 3.79% to 42.16, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was up 1.47% to settle at 6.08 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which gained 1.10% to close at 47.86.

The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 3.56% to 33.31 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which lost 3.03% to settle at 52.52 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 2.58% to 83.80 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 314 to 299 and 34 ended unchanged.

Shares in Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.52% or 0.44 to 12.83. Shares in Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.50% or 1.05 to 43.05. Shares in Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) fell to 5-year lows; losing 23.53% or 5.06 to 16.44. Shares in Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.79% or 1.54 to 42.16.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.53% to 13.50.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.83% or 17.10 to $2,054.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.24% or 1.65 to hit $72.17 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.91% or 1.50 to trade at $77.20 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.78% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.94% at 103.83.
