Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.39%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Industrials and Chemicals sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Technology and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.39%, while the MDAX index added 0.15%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.03%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which rose 2.50% or 2.30 points to trade at 94.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 2.13% or 0.37 points to end at 17.73 and Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) was up 1.24% or 0.45 points to 36.78 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which fell 0.70% or 0.20 points to trade at 28.49 at the close. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) declined 0.60% or 0.18 points to end at 29.70 and Fresenius SE&Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was down 0.46% or 0.12 points to 26.04.

The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which rose 1.99% to 37.93, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which was up 1.85% to settle at 190.20 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which gained 1.59% to close at 8.23.

The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 2.77% to 20.39 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 1.55% to settle at 27.39 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was down 1.43% to 5.88 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which rose 1.26% to 112.40, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 1.12% to settle at 22.60 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which gained 0.87% to close at 27.70.

The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 1.55% to 27.39 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which lost 1.35% to settle at 46.72 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 1.28% to 15.06 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 362 to 313 and 85 ended unchanged.

Shares in Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.59% or 0.13 to 8.23. Shares in Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) fell to 3-years lows; down 1.28% or 0.19 to 15.06.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.38% to 20.75.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.04% or 18.75 to $1,822.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.23% or 0.98 to hit $80.54 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.33% or 1.12 to trade at $85.62 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.41% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 103.88.
