
Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer&Cyclical, Food&Beverages and Media sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Utilities and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.41%, while the MDAX index declined 0.56%, and the TecDAX index added 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which rose 4.18% or 8.20 points to trade at 204.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 2.24% or 7.50 points to end at 342.40 and Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) was up 2.03% or 1.01 points to 50.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN), which fell 1.87% or 0.51 points to trade at 26.46 at the close. Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) declined 1.53% or 0.58 points to end at 37.53 and RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) was down 1.51% or 0.49 points to 32.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 1.55% to 22.28, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 1.52% to settle at 86.55 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 1.37% to close at 48.81.
The worst performers were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was down 4.59% to 6.56 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 3.28% to settle at 12.38 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 3.06% to 1.82 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which rose 2.54% to 30.74, Eckert&Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was up 2.27% to settle at 35.18 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which gained 2.24% to close at 342.40.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.28% to 12.38 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which lost 2.88% to settle at 29.70 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 2.36% to 48.02 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 350 to 262 and 43 ended unchanged.
Shares in Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.59% or 0.32 to 6.56.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.43% to 17.22.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.27% or 6.40 to $2,367.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.39% or 1.19 to hit $84.47 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.34% or 1.21 to trade at $89.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 105.83.
