Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.60%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Retail and Technology sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Software and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.60% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index gained 0.03%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.01%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which rose 5.53% or 0.58 points to trade at 11.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 3.51% or 12.80 points to end at 377.20 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was up 2.91% or 0.75 points to 26.52 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which fell 1.74% or 0.25 points to trade at 13.84 at the close. Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) declined 1.00% or 1.50 points to end at 148.82 and Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) was down 0.67% or 1.25 points to 185.80.

The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 4.62% to 23.33, Hochtief AG (ETR:HOTG) which was up 3.44% to settle at 102.20 and LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which gained 3.02% to close at 71.58.

The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was down 5.65% to 4.66 in late trade, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which lost 5.26% to settle at 90.10 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which was down 2.86% to 41.04 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which rose 2.20% to 6.05, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was up 2.17% to settle at 21.18 and PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which gained 1.51% to close at 13.42.

The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 7.12% to 31.32 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which lost 2.20% to settle at 53.35 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 2.09% to 85.18 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 373 to 249 and 32 ended unchanged.

Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all time highs; rising 3.51% or 12.80 to 377.20. Shares in Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.65% or 0.28 to 4.66. Shares in CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) fell to 5-year lows; down 7.12% or 2.40 to 31.32.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.07% to 13.76.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.44% or 8.85 to $2,013.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.27% or 1.74 to hit $78.38 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.96% or 1.60 to trade at $83.20 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 104.31.
