Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.10%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Retail and Food&Beverages sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.10%, while the MDAX index gained 1.11%, and the TecDAX index added 0.89%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 6.88% or 1.36 points to trade at 21.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 2.08% or 6.50 points to end at 319.30 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was up 1.61% or 0.47 points to 29.75 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which fell 2.90% or 1.46 points to trade at 48.84 at the close. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) declined 1.32% or 0.44 points to end at 32.82 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) was down 1.28% or 4.30 points to 332.50.

The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 5.77% to 24.00, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was up 5.01% to settle at 63.72 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 4.43% to close at 42.67.

The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 1.70% to 104.00 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which lost 1.43% to settle at 89.65 and Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which was down 1.42% to 29.85 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which rose 5.71% to 41.09, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was up 4.22% to settle at 234.50 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 3.85% to close at 23.45.

The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 1.43% to 89.65 in late trade, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which lost 1.19% to settle at 37.40 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was down 0.94% to 2.43 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 362 to 291 and 92 ended unchanged.

Shares in Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) rose to all time highs; up 4.22% or 9.50 to 234.50.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.17% to 15.64.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.04% or 0.85 to $1,981.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.38% or 0.29 to hit $75.95 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.40% or 0.32 to trade at $79.95 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP rose 0.64% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 100.04.
