Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.10%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Retail, Food&Beverages and Pharmaceuticals&Healthcare sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Insurance and Software sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.10%, while the MDAX index added 1.39%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.65%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 4.51% or 12.50 points to trade at 289.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) added 3.21% or 0.44 points to end at 14.32 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p) was up 2.61% or 3.10 points to 121.85 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn), which fell 8.26% or 6.43 points to trade at 71.41 at the close. Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) declined 3.53% or 8.30 points to end at 227.00 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) was down 2.72% or 14.60 points to 521.60.

The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 26.18% to 31.96, Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which was up 5.55% to settle at 50.60 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 5.36% to close at 22.61.

The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 4.84% to 23.20 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 3.74% to settle at 38.08 and Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which was down 2.33% to 54.40 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which rose 22.81% to 88.85, Eckert&Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was up 9.66% to settle at 44.26 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which gained 6.98% to close at 31.58.

The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 4.84% to 23.20 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 3.74% to settle at 38.08 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 2.16% to 72.40 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 346 to 266 and 39 ended unchanged.

Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 3.21% or 0.44 to 14.32. Shares in Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.98% or 2.06 to 31.58.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 13.64.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.42% or 9.95 to $2,352.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.66% or 1.31 to hit $77.81 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.42% or 1.18 to trade at $82.18 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 104.94.
