Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.22% – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Food&Beverages and Pharmaceuticals&Healthcare sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Chemicals and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.22%, while the MDAX index lost 0.22%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.33%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 1.48% or 0.49 points to trade at 33.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 1.36% or 4.50 points to end at 336.60 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 1.12% or 0.12 points to 10.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn), which fell 2.51% or 4.26 points to trade at 165.52 at the close. Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) declined 2.33% or 1.88 points to end at 78.94 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was down 1.99% or 0.53 points to 26.17.

The top performers on the MDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which rose 4.53% to 110.75, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was up 4.07% to settle at 90.80 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 2.92% to close at 34.55.

The worst performers were Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was down 4.53% to 31.20 in late trade, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which lost 3.74% to settle at 96.36 and Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was down 3.44% to 61.14 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which rose 4.53% to 110.75, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 2.92% to settle at 34.55 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which gained 2.82% to close at 18.22.

The worst performers were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was down 5.89% to 5.68 in late trade, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which lost 5.62% to settle at 20.33 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 2.52% to 9.50 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 400 to 220 and 29 ended unchanged.

Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all time highs; up 1.36% or 4.50 to 336.60. Shares in Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.44% or 2.18 to 61.14.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.99% to 13.76.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.60% or 12.25 to $2,035.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.71% or 0.54 to hit $76.76 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.50 to trade at $82.13 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 104.00.
