Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.30%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food&Beverages, Telecoms and Pharmaceuticals&Healthcare sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Consumer&Cyclical and Retail sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.30%, while the MDAX index declined 1.11%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.20%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA), which rose 2.48% or 1.01 points to trade at 41.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) added 1.59% or 2.30 points to end at 146.60 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) was up 1.52% or 4.80 points to 320.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which fell 4.90% or 0.56 points to trade at 10.88 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 3.22% or 0.39 points to end at 11.74 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was down 3.10% or 0.55 points to 17.19.

The top performers on the MDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 3.51% to 27.72, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was up 2.12% to settle at 26.96 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 1.78% to close at 22.55.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 8.32% to 15.27 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 4.81% to settle at 9.76 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was down 3.94% to 12.57 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 11.26% to 37.79, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 3.51% to settle at 27.72 and Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which gained 2.93% to close at 22.50.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 8.32% to 15.27 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 4.81% to settle at 9.76 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 3.15% to 49.54 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 387 to 223 and 33 ended unchanged.

Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.52% or 4.80 to 320.40. Shares in Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.10% or 0.55 to 17.19. Shares in Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) fell to 52-week lows; down 8.32% or 1.38 to 15.27. Shares in Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 11.26% or 3.83 to 37.79. Shares in Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) fell to 52-week lows; losing 8.32% or 1.38 to 15.27. Shares in SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.15% or 1.61 to 49.54.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.08% to 14.09.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.78% or 15.95 to $2,035.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $72.81 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.47% or 0.37 to trade at $78.52 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.68% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.89% at 103.06.
