Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.35%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Food&Beverages and Software sectors led shares higher while losses in the Financial Services, Construction and Retail sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.35%, while the MDAX index lost 1.04%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.39%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 5.45% or 1.63 points to trade at 31.43 at the close. Meanwhile, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 1.17% or 6.00 points to end at 520.60 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) was up 1.15% or 0.60 points to 52.76 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn), which fell 4.01% or 7.55 points to trade at 180.70 at the close. Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) declined 3.97% or 1.05 points to end at 25.39 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was down 1.67% or 0.43 points to 25.35.

The top performers on the MDAX were Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which rose 2.32% to 57.30, Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) which was up 2.32% to settle at 44.10 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 2.24% to close at 39.20.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 32.02% to 9.64 in late trade, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which lost 3.09% to settle at 1.90 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was down 2.70% to 12.26 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which rose 5.45% to 31.43, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 2.24% to settle at 39.20 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which gained 1.64% to close at 22.30.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 32.02% to 9.64 in late trade, Eckert&Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which lost 2.20% to settle at 36.50 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 2.14% to 100.40 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 340 to 250 and 38 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.75% to 14.85.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.24% or 5.60 to $2,336.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.46% or 0.38 to hit $82.98 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.28 to trade at $88.14 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 105.73.
