
Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, IT and Carbon sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 0.01%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were HDFC Bank Ltd (NS:HDBK), which rose 2.22% or 31.75 points to trade at 1,459.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS) added 1.70% or 69.90 points to end at 4,192.25 and LTIMindtree Ltd (NS:LTIM) was up 1.68% or 86.20 points to 5,209.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adani Enterprises Ltd (NS:ADEL), which fell 2.65% or 84.85 points to trade at 3,122.50 at the close. Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:GRAS) declined 2.36% or 52.80 points to end at 2,184.00 and Cipla Ltd. (NS:CIPL) was down 2.21% or 33.30 points to 1,470.80.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were HDFC Bank Ltd (BO:HDBK) which rose 2.26% to 1,459.25, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which was up 1.78% to settle at 4,194.80 and LTIMindtree Ltd (BO:LTIM) which gained 1.62% to close at 5,207.70.
The worst performers were State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which was down 1.89% to 758.90 in late trade, ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) which lost 1.76% to settle at 402.20 and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:REDY) which was down 1.25% to 6,303.80 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1957 to 248 and 21 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 3107 fell and 641 advanced, while 67 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.55% to 13.64.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.30% or 6.55 to $2,182.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.69% or 0.54 to hit $78.47 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.77% or 0.63 to trade at $82.84 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.05% to 82.78, while EUR/INR rose 0.10% to 90.49.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 102.47.
