
Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Auto, Technology and IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 0.44% to hit a new all time high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:BAJA), which rose 5.90% or 286.00 points to trade at 5,130.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI) added 2.32% or 21.20 points to end at 936.15 and Mahindra&Mahindra Ltd. (NS:MAHM) was up 2.24% or 35.10 points to 1,601.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (NS:BPCL), which fell 1.60% or 5.75 points to trade at 353.00 at the close. Asian Paints Ltd. (NS:ASPN) declined 1.35% or 43.60 points to end at 3,196.65 and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (NS:HLL) was down 1.24% or 31.10 points to 2,469.70.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which rose 2.37% to 936.45, Mahindra&Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) which was up 2.23% to settle at 1,600.90 and HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) which gained 1.66% to close at 1,304.90.
The worst performers were Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which was down 1.32% to 3,196.60 in late trade, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:HLL) which lost 1.26% to settle at 2,469.90 and Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) which was down 0.80% to 1,538.35 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1052 to 974 and 48 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1838 rose and 1669 declined, while 141 ended unchanged.

Shares in Mahindra&Mahindra Ltd. (NS:MAHM) rose to all time highs; up 2.24% or 35.10 to 1,601.10. Shares in Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.37% or 21.70 to 936.45. Shares in Mahindra&Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) rose to all time highs; up 2.23% or 34.85 to 1,600.90. Shares in HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.66% or 21.30 to 1,304.90.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 3.67% to 10.90.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.33% or 6.40 to $1,939.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.47% or 0.42 to hit $90.58 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.36 to trade at $94.06 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.03% to 83.15, while EUR/INR rose 0.25% to 88.66.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 104.94.
