
Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Auto, Real Estate and Capital Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.59% to hit a new 1-month high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Wipro Ltd (NS:WIPR), which rose 4.73% or 24.50 points to trade at 543.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Mahindra&Mahindra Ltd. (NS:MAHM) added 3.99% or 70.50 points to end at 1,835.55 and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:SBIL) was up 3.79% or 55.10 points to 1,508.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (NS:PGRD), which fell 2.54% or 7.15 points to trade at 274.50 at the close. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:ONGC) declined 0.94% or 2.60 points to end at 274.70 and State Bank Of India (NS:SBI) was down 0.92% or 7.00 points to 754.70.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) which rose 4.79% to 543.10, Mahindra&Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) which was up 3.96% to settle at 1,835.55 and Larsen&Toubro Ltd (BO:LART) which gained 2.38% to close at 3,379.00.
The worst performers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:PGRD) which was down 2.36% to 274.85 in late trade, State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which lost 0.90% to settle at 754.75 and Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which was down 0.70% to 2,921.35 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1237 to 897 and 45 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2081 rose and 1614 declined, while 89 ended unchanged.

Shares in Mahindra&Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) rose to all time highs; up 3.96% or 70.00 to 1,835.55.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was unchanged 0.02% to 15.22.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.12% or 2.40 to $2,017.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.92% or 0.72 to hit $77.31 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.05% or 0.87 to trade at $81.99 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.02% to 83.01, while EUR/INR fell 0.04% to 89.37.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 104.29.
