
Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, IT and Consumer Durables sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 declined 0.05%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Hero MotoCorp Ltd (NS:HROM), which rose 4.52% or 154.40 points to trade at 3,568.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:BAJA) added 3.14% or 180.45 points to end at 5,932.00 and Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (NS:BPCL) was up 2.30% or 9.25 points to 411.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cipla Ltd. (NS:CIPL), which fell 7.59% or 96.55 points to trade at 1,174.95 at the close. UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS:ULTC) declined 1.77% or 155.35 points to end at 8,604.55 and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:SBIL) was down 1.54% or 22.00 points to 1,408.10.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which rose 1.16% to 1,487.65, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which was up 0.96% to settle at 978.65 and Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) which gained 0.67% to close at 402.90.
The worst performers were UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:ULTC) which was down 1.67% to 8,614.00 in late trade, LTIMindtree Ltd (BO:LTIM) which lost 1.52% to settle at 5,469.50 and Larsen&Toubro Ltd (BO:LART) which was down 0.92% to 3,053.55 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1134 to 936 and 61 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1984 rose and 1596 declined, while 132 ended unchanged.

Shares in Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (NS:BPCL) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.30% or 9.25 to 411.35. Shares in Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) rose to all time highs; rising 0.96% or 9.35 to 978.65.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 4.64% to 11.31.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.05% or 1.05 to $1,993.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.02% or 0.79 to hit $76.31 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.06% or 0.87 to trade at $81.09 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.07% to 83.34, while EUR/INR rose 0.35% to 90.99.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 103.54.
