
Investing.com – India stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Power and Banking sectors led shares higher while losses in the IT, Technology and Capital Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.01%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index declined 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were State Bank Of India (NS:SBI), which rose 4.19% or 27.25 points to trade at 677.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:GRAS) added 2.38% or 49.20 points to end at 2,115.20 and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:HDFL) was up 2.24% or 13.25 points to 606.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:TEML), which fell 2.67% or 36.05 points to trade at 1,315.00 at the close. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (NS:PGRD) declined 2.64% or 7.25 points to end at 267.00 and Infosys Ltd (NS:INFY) was down 1.99% or 34.45 points to 1,695.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which rose 3.78% to 675.50, Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which was up 1.87% to settle at 6,724.95 and Axis Bank Ltd. (BO:AXBK) which gained 1.77% to close at 1,069.00.
The worst performers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:PGRD) which was down 2.33% to 267.95 in late trade, Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:TEML) which lost 2.31% to settle at 1,319.20 and Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which was down 1.97% to 1,695.15 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1226 to 928 and 35 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2161 rose and 1560 declined, while 85 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.77% to 15.51.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.11% or 2.35 to $2,049.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.78% or 0.57 to hit $73.88 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.71% or 0.56 to trade at $79.15 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.12% to 82.97, while EUR/INR rose 0.01% to 89.36.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 103.92.
