Israel stocks lower at close of trade; TA 35 down 1.84%

Investing.com – Israel stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil&Gas, Banking and Communication sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 lost 1.84%.

The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Elbit Systems Ltd (TASE:ESLT), which rose 1.30% or 820.00 points to trade at 64,120.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Phoenix Holdings Ltd (TASE:PHOE1) added 0.59% or 21.00 points to end at 3,557.00 and Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TASE:TSEM) was up 0.40% or 60.00 points to 14,880.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Ormat Technologies (TASE:ORA), which fell 8.56% or 2,810.00 points to trade at 30,030.00 at the close. Shikun&Binui (TASE:SKBN) declined 7.08% or 60.30 points to end at 792.00 and Shapir Engineering Industry (TASE:SPEN) was down 4.21% or 104.00 points to 2,366.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 312 to 152 and 24 ended unchanged.

Shares in Shapir Engineering Industry (TASE:SPEN) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.21% or 104.00 to 2,366.00.

Crude oil for April delivery was down 6.77% or 4.83 to $66.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 6.34% or 4.91 to hit $72.54 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.06% or 20.35 to trade at $1,931.25 a troy ounce.

USD/ILS was down 0.17% to 3.61, while EUR/ILS fell 1.75% to 3.82.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.19% at 104.44.
