Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.04%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Electronic Parts/Components, Auto and Machinery sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.04%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424), which rose 10.00% or 3.20 points to trade at 35.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Tong Ming Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:5538) added 9.90% or 3.05 points to end at 33.85 and Taiflex Scientific Co Ltd (TW:8039) was up 9.89% or 5.60 points to 62.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which fell 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 at the close. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Sesoda Corp (TW:1708) was down 7.27% or 3.10 points to 39.55.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) fell to all time lows; down 9.95% or 0.21 to 1.90. Shares in Taiflex Scientific Co Ltd (TW:8039) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 9.89% or 5.60 to 62.20.

Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.68% or 0.51 to $75.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.60% or 0.47 to hit $78.62 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.20 to trade at $2,546.10 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.05% to 31.83, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.13% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 100.60.
